Ghana Not Scrapped Off Hosting Rights - CAF

The Confederation of African football, CAF has debunked widespread public claim that it has relieved Ghana of hosting the African Women's Cup of Nations, AWCON.

This is after several local media reports suggest that, the West African side has been lackadaisical in preparation towards the tournament and hence, will be denied the chance to host the rest of Africa by the African football governing body.

However, CAF in a statement released cited on cafonline.com was quick to object that claim, "CAF  authoritatively confirms there has been no decision regarding the hosting rights of the Total Women's Africa Cup of Nations Ghana 2018 scheduled for 17 November to 1 December," it stated.

Meanwhile the Confederation of African football is set to discuss the hosting rights in their next meeting and land on a final  conclusion later next month.

"The subject will be discussed at the next meeting of the Organising Committee for Women's Football to be held in Cairo...,the final decision will be taken by the CAF Executive committee at its meeting on 27-28  September, 2018 in Egypt," it added.

The country's  football is on the downside after Tiger Eye PI's investigation on corruption leading to a Normalisation Committee which is yet to be set.
