TEAM OF THE WEEK: Ghana Premier League Week Seven

Kickgh.com comes your way with the team of the week from players that were outstanding for their side in Match Day Seven across all six league centers.

Elmina Sharks dominate this week's team with three players whereas others players had their debut in the Team Of The Week after seven match days.

Coach Abdul Karim Zito of Dreams FC will lead the charges for this week for his brave and tactical solidity he exhibited at Dawu against Asante Kotoko SC to win 1-0 at the death of the game.

In a 4-2-3-1 formation, below is our team of the week for Match Day Seven.

GOALKEEPER

Isaac Amoako (Dreams FC)- Isaac Amoako stood between Asante Kotoko SC and scoring as he made two breathtaking saves in the early second to keep the game barren. He was a leader in post as he commanded his back line superbly.

DEFENDERS

Augustine Sefah (Asante Kotoko SC) RB- The experienced right-back was unstoppable on the laterals for his side and marauded the lines very well. His crossing were timely and had almost all his passes right in the game against Dreams FC. He kept winger Abdul Mugeez at bay throughout the game.

Ofoe Ofotsu (Elmina Sharks) CB- This was a week Ofoe Ofotsu couldn't have missed the team of the week with his breathless display against Hearts of Oak on Saturday. The former Olympics defender was always right with his tackles and was confidence with his movement on the ball. He was the reason Selassie Bakai was substituted after the first half.

Mohammed Alhassan (WAFA) CB- Alhassan Mohammed was part of the defensive team that conceded twice against Techiman Eleven Wonders on Match Day Seven but was mostly spot on with everything he did with the ball. He got a consolation for WAFA when things look unsurmountable.

Dennis Nkrumah Korsah (Ebusua Dwarfs) LB- Dennis Korsah continued with his superb performance in midweek against Asante Kotoko SC to that against Liberty Professionals at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium where he geared his side up to come from behind to pick all three points. He produced a Marcelo-esque performance and could be one of his best in his professional career.

MIDFIELDERS

Jackson Owusu (Asante Kotoko SC) DM- Jackson Owusu started the game so well against Dreams FC at Dawu and was the only brightest spot for his side in the game. He controlled the midfield for Kotoko with his dazzling moves and passed with accuracy.

Leonard Owusu Agyeman (Dreams FC) CM- This is a true footballer by all standard. His silky-smooth play always caught the Asante Kotoko back line off guard. He got all his dribbles on the day right and finally gave the assist to George Dwubeng for the only goal of the game on the 90th minutes.

Stephen Amankona (Berekum Chelsea) RW-  Stephen Amankona has been a hard nut for opposition defender in the league and was on cloud nine last Sunday against Bechem United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium with his performance that saw him getting the only goal for his side to win 1-0. He also won the Man Of The Match award.

Daniel Obeng Crentsil (Elmina Sharks) AM- Daniel Obeng Crentsil made the difference in the game between Hearts of Oak and Elmina Sharks producing an assist and a goal. He was involved in his club's two goals scored to secure all three points for the Edina-based side.

Rashid Nortey (Medeama SC) LW- Rashid Nortey gets his first place in the team of the week with his outstanding performance on Saturday against Inter Allies. He assisted the only goal his side scored through Joseph Tetteh Zutah and subsequently won the Man Of The Match accolade.

Felix Addo (Elmina Sharks) CF- Felix Addo produced a replica of his performance at the WAFU tournament on Saturday against Hearts of Oak. His relentless run at his markers gave the Hearts of Oak defenders so much to worry about throughout the game. He scored the opener for Elmina Sharks and won the Man Of The Match award in the game.
