Nyantakyi Sacked me not the EXCO - George Afriyie reveals

The former Black Stars management committee chairman has finally opened up the person behind his removal as the Ghana FA vice President.

Ex-Ghana Football Association Mr. George Afriyie says his boss Kwesi Nyantakyi opted to sack him from office.

It was earlier reported by the Ghana FA official twitter handle that the astute football administrator was sacked following the decision of the Executive committee.

Speaking to Accra-based radio station, Asempa FM on Monday morning, Mr. Afriyie shrugged off those reports and revealed that it was a sole decision of the CAF vice president.

"The decision to take me out is the sole decision of the FA president not that of the Executive committee" Mr. Afriyie told Asempa FM

"After my infamous text message to Mr Nyantakyi, I was going to followed it up with my resignation.

"But seven top officials advised and asked me to stay on. The likes of Randy Abbey, Fred Pappoe, Sannie Daara, J.Y Appiah and others assuage me to stay on.

"I am not one of those who will betray Kwesi Nyantakyi. I have supported him ever since he became the FA president.

"I am just here to set the record straight. He (Nyantakyi) has done so well for Ghana football.

"He has made a lot of reforms and I'm ready to support him to go through with the reforms.

Mr. Afriyie has already declared his intention to vie for the Ghana FA presidential seat next year.
