MATCH REPORT: Ghana whip Japan in a friendly

The Black Stars of Ghana recorded a victory over Japan in an international friendly on Wednesday morning.
Ghana managed to beat the Sumaira Blue 2-0 in the annual Karin Challenge Cup at the Nissan Sports Stadium in Yokohama.
Coach Kwesi Appiah's charges started the match on a good note as they registered the opener before quarters of the game.
Skipper Thomas Teye Partey snatched the lead with a stunning free-kick in the 9th minute of the game.
Ghana continued dominating the game but failed to double the lead before recess as Frank Acheampong and Emmanuel Boateng tried their lucks.
The Japanese could be found guilty for squandering the set-pieces awarded to them in the first half as in ended in a 1-0 victory in favor of Ghana.
Back from the break, Ghana doubled the lead in just five minutes through a penalty kick after Levante UD striker Emmanuel Boateng was brought down by the Japanese goalkeeper in the 18-yard box.
Debutant Emmanuel Boateng grabbed his first goal for the West African country after neatly converting a spot-kick awarded to them in the 51st minute.
Japan nearly grabbed a consolation goal through Yuya in the 70th minute but his strike was fisted out by goalkeeper Richard Ofori.
Boateng and Partey continued tormenting the Japan defense with long range strikes but it all went wide.
Also, Nana Ampomah tried his luck to net his first goal for Ghana but his shot went over the bar.
Japan are preparing ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
