Ashanti Regional Deputy Minister blames journalists over the slump interest of local football

The Ashanti Regional Deputy Minister Hon. Elizabeth Agyemang has blamed the local media over the slack of enthusiasm in the local football.

The former Member of Parliament for Oforikrom Constituency believes journalists are agog with the European football rather than generating interest in the local game.

"I'm worried about how journalists pay special interest in foreign football matches and don't talk about our local game," Hon. Elizabeth Agyemang said during the maiden stakeholders meeting of the Regional Sports Committee.

"The attention is now on the foreign ones, while ours is declining. Let's find interest in our own matches and develop the game," she added.

The country's football is currently lulled after Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposed the rot in the game.
