The senior national team of Ghana suffered its first defeat in the qualifiers to the Harambee Stars of Kenya at the Kasarani Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Coach Kwesi Appian's side failed to score with the numerous chances created and set-pieces awarded to them during the match in Nairobi.
"We played so well and had a lot of chances which we could have won the game but we couldn't make it," Asamoah told Joy FM
"This is a wakeup call for us and know that now in football there is no country you can beat easily.
"The outcome of the game will also motivate us to improve going into our next game."
Ghana will play against Sierra Leone in the third round of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next month.
