Karim Zito insists 'C.K Akunnor can achieve his target'

Head coach of the Ghana national U-17 men's team, Karim Zito believes that Charles Kwablan Akunnor, who is the new trainer of Asante Kotoko, can achieve his target at the club.

The management of the Porcupine Warriors have tasked the former Ashanti Gold gaffer, C.K Akunnor, to conquer Africa after his contract with the 2013/14 Ghana Premier League champions ends on September 2021.

And Karim Zito, who was the technical brain to lead the Black Starlets to the second spot of the just ended WAFU U-17 Zone B championship, has reiterated that Akunnor's target is very realistic.

“Am very happy Kotoko has appointed C.K. Akunnor as their head coach. It was his dream to coach Kotoko," Karim Zito revealed to Kumasi-based Metro FM.

“The current team of the club is not doing bad at all and I think Akunnor will continue the project of Paa Kwasi Fabin."

"For three years, I think it’s okay. The first year he'll access the strength of the team and will build upon.”

"The target set for him is a realistic target and I know CK Akunnor can do it," he concluded.

C.K Akunnor yesterday inked a three-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors.

He has succeded his predecessor Paa Kwesi Fabin who resigned on September amid reports which emerged that the club management was about to sack him despite their terrific form.
