Former Kotoko gaffer Michael Osei calls on supporters to rally behind C.K Akonnor

Former Asante Kotoko coach Michael Osei has called on the vociferous supporters of the fabulous fraternity to rally behind Charles Kwablan Akonnor in this crucial moment as the club prepare for an herculean task against Cameroon Cotton Sports in the Confederations Cup.

C.K Akonnor has come under intense pressure from a section of Kotoko supporters after failing to beat regional rivals Ashanti Gold in former president John Agyekum Kuffour's ceremonial match.

However, the former player of the club believes that it is too early for the club's supporters to demand instant results since there is no competitive football in the country to shape and keep the players active.

In an exclusive interview with kickgh.com the national U-23 deputy coach disclose that "expectation is too much from the supporters of the club and it will be very needful for them to lower it now in other not to be disappointed."

He argued that the former Wolfsburg captain has what it takes to drive Kotoko to reach greater height.

"C.K Akonnor is a fine coach with lots of potentials and has capabilities to push Kotoko forward, therefore, there is a need for the supporters to rally behind him because the players have not been active since last year June."

"I will encourage the supporters to understand the dynamics of the game now to avoid enormous pressure on the coach."

Charles Kwablan Akonnor was named as the head coach for Asante Kotoko last year November after a surprised resignation of Paa Kwasi Fabin.
