MATCH REPORT: Kotoko 0-1 Berekum Chelsea - Kofi Owusu's lone strike sink Kotoko

Berekum Chelsea extended their unbeaten streak in the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season to three after pipping the Porcupine Warriors in Kumasi on Sunday afternoon.

Asante Kotoko suffered a painful 1-0 home loss to Berekum Chelsea in their match-day three clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
 
The Biribes lads started the match on a good note with an early goal with their first goal glaring opportunity.
 
Striker Kofi Owusu fired the lead for Berekum Chelsea on the 7th minute after receiving a brilliant pass inside the box from Jeorge Renchi to beat Felix Annan with a shot into the left bottom corner.
 
The Porcupine Warriors came close to level the score in the mid of the first half through Songne Yacouba and Emmanuel Gyamfi but their strikes with wide.
 
On the 31st minute, Goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad fisted out a powerful drive from Emmanuel Gyamfi as Kwame Adom Frimpong was introduced to replace Mudasiru Salifu who sustained an injury.
 
On the stroke of the halftime, Augustine Okrah nearly found the equaliser for the home side but his shot went off target as the first department ended in a 1-0 victory in favor of Berekum Chelsea.
 
Back from the break, the Porcupine Warriors gained possession to stage an intensified pressure on the visitors as Songne Yacouba came close to level the score on the 52nd minute.
 
Chelsea had two quick attacks thereon, that got saved by Felix Annan on the 69th and 70th minute from Jonah Attuquaye and Stephen Amankona respectively.
 
The game was temporary held for close to ten minutes from a mishap from referee Charles Bulu who nearly messed the game with his decision to red card Empem Dacosta instead of Kwame Adom Frimpong.
 
The decision erupted the bench of Asante Kotoko but referee Charles Bulu’s decision stood to leave Asante Kotoko with ten men for the rest of the game.
 
Kotoko failed to score with the numerous chances created in the last minutes of the match.
