Great United Footballers Association (GUFA) set for Float, Dinner and Fund-Raising

Francis Akwaffo, the President for Great United Footballers Association (GUFA), an association for active and non-active footballers has released litany of events to herald their Dinner and Fund-raising slated for December 29, 2018.

The Association which was formed last year will celebrate their maiden anniversary through float on the principal street of Kumasi on Friday, 28th December, 2018, at 8:00am and ends it at Police Depot for a football match to create massive awareness about the existence of the group.

The Association would have dinner and fund-raising ceremony on Saturday, 29th December, 2018, at Maclean Joint behind Unity oil, Santasi roundabout to raise funds for the association. Great United Footballers Association (GUSA) will serve as an advisory body and backbone for active players and those who have drawn the curtains down on their footballing career.

Speaking to Francis Akwaffo, the President of the association, he said "The association has come to stay to work particularly on player welfare in the country. And also assist players during contract signing or renewal to avoid cheat."

"We are also there to support players who have retired from competitive football because life after football is sometimes unpleasant in the country especially when you're unable to save during your active days."
