Issah Abass makes Bundesliga debut for Mainz 05

Ghanaian youth forward Abass Issah played his first match for Mainz 05 in the German Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.

Mainz 05 were held to a scoreless draw by Hertha Berlin in their week seven fixture at the Opel Arena.

The 20-year-old replaced Jean Philippe Mateta on the 82nd minute of the game.

Seven minutes later, he nearly snatched the opener for the home side but his audacious strike went wide.

He joined the German club from Slovenian giants NK Olimpija Ljubljana on a five-year deal on the summer transfer deadline day.

Abass scored 17 goals in 53 games during his stay at the Slovenian club.
