Wahab Ackwei terminates his contract with New York Red Bulls

The former Inter Allies skipper has mutually parted ways with the American club after seven months.
 
Ghanaian defender Wahab Ackwei has terminated his contract with New York Red Bulls II by mutual consent.
 
The 21-year-old joined the youth side of the Major League Soccer club, New York Red Bulls in February on a free transfer.
 
"New York Red Bulls II and Wahab Ackwei mutually agree to terminate the defender’s contract" the club's official statement reads.
 
Kickgh.com understands that Several European clubs have expressed interest in signing the stalwart centre-back during the next transfer window.
 
Ackwei played in seven games for NYRB II this season, starting five of them, tallying 452 minutes total and one assist.
