Kwabena Owusu on cloud nine after Qarabag FK debut

The talented attacker has expressed his delight after marking a debut for the Azerbaijani top-flight club.

Ghana striker Kwabena Owusu is on cloud nine after playing his first match for Qarabag FK in the Azerbaijan Premier League.

The 22-year-old featured for the first time in their 0-0 home stalemate with Nefti Baku in their match-day sixteen encounter.

The Ghana U23 attacker lasted for 71 minute on his debut for the Blue and Black lads with a splendid performance.

"I'm very happy to play my first match for Qarabag FK," Owusu told Kickgh.com

"The fans were amazing with their unflinching support despite the draw. It wasn't the result we wanted but we're hoping for the best"

"We promise to give them victories in our subsequent matches"

He joined Qarabag FK on a three and half year deal from Spanish La Liga club CD Leganes.

Before joining Qarabag FK, he spent half of the season with Spanish second-tier side FC Cordoba where he netted six goals in 17 matches.

Owusu was a member of the Black Stars squad that represented Ghana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

He also played for the Ghana U23 team at the last year's U23 Africa Cup of Nations where he scored two goals.
