The budding talented centre-back is on the verge of joining the Spanish La Liga champions in summer, Kickgh.com can exclusively confirm

Spanish top-flight heavyweights Real Madrid have expressed interest in signing Ghanaian defender Salisu Mohammed in the next transfer window.

The 20-year-old defender has emerged on the radar of the White lads following his monstrous performance in his La Liga debut season with Real Valladolid.

According Spanish newspaper AS, the President of Real Madrid Florentino Pérez has held talks with Ronaldo Nazario of Real Valladolid over the possible summer acquisition of the Kumasi-born defender.

He has attracted interest from several clubs including Manchester United, Valencia and Gatefe after a sterling output for Real Valladolid in just a season.

Kickgh.com understand that Real Madrid are ready to trigger his transfer clause this summer which is around twelve million euros under the recommendations of Zidane.

Real Madrid are weighing up options to land the Ghanaian international as a backup for their two centre-backs Sergio Ramos and Nacho Fernandez who are in their early thirties.

Salisu will become the third Ghanaian footballer to play for Real Madrid after Michael Essien and Daniel Opare who featured for the Real Madrid Castilla.

His current contract with Real Valladolid will expire in summer 2022.

In this season, Salisu has won 61% of the duels in which he has participated, has recovered 101 balls for Valladolid and has won 60 aerial duels.

Also he has done everything without hardly incurring disciplinary actions: he has only committed 17 offenses, one every 118 minutes.

He has made 25 appearances in all competitions for Real Valladolid in his debut season with a goal to his credit.

Salisu joined Real Valladolid's youth side from Ghanaian based African Talent Football Academy in 2017.

He earned a promotion to Real Valladolid senior side in July 2018 and become a starter following the departure of Fernando Calero to RCD Espanyol ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Salisu received a maiden call-up to the senior national team of Ghana under Coach Kwesi Appiah for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principle.

He couldn't turn up for the two matches due to injury.
