MATCH REPORT: Ghana 2-1 Ivory Coast - 10-man Black Starlets beat Ivory Coast to reach WAFU U17 Championship final

The Black Starlets of Ghana has qualified to the grand finale of the 2018 WAFU B U17 Championship following their famous win over Ivory Coast on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Ghana came from behind to whip their neighbouring country, Ivory Coast 2-1 in their semi-final clash at the Stade Général Seyni Kountché in Niamey.
 
The Ghana U17 team came from behind to end the first department of game in a 2-1 home victory over the Ivorians.
 
Youngster Traore Seidu got the opener for Ivory Coast in the early minutes of the game.
 
Ghana gained possession after conceding the goal as they managed to register two goals before recess.
 
Skipper Alhassan Uzair levelled the score for the Black Starlets after connecting a corner-kick from Samuel Appiah Asamoah on the 40th minute.
 
Tudu Mighty Jets young striker Taufiq Shaibu grabbed the match-winner for the male U17 team of Ghana on the stroke of halftime.
 
Back from the break, The Ivorians mounted pressure on Coach Karim Zito's charges but failed to restored the parity of the game.
 
Goalkeeper David Kudjo made brilliant saves in the second half to deny the Ivory Coast U17 side from scoring again.
 
Ghana finished the match with ten men after Eugene Adjei Frimpong picked a second yellow card on the 75th minute.
 
Ghana will face the winner of the second semi-final game between Niger and Nigeria which will be played this evening.
