2019 AFCON: Ghana to face Benin in Group F opener

The Black Stars of Ghana will start their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with their West African neighbors.

Ghana will face the senior national team of Benin in their Group F opener in the 32nd edition of the tournament.

Coach Kwesi Appiah's were drawn alongside Cameroon, Benin and Guinea Bissau in Group F after the draw which held in Cairo, Egypt on Friday.

Ghana will battle out with the squirrels of Benin in their Group F at the Ismailia Stadium on June 25th.

Four days later, the four-time champions will play against Cameroon and wrap up with Guinea Bissau on July 2nd.

Since 1981, Ghana have lost twice against Benin with seven wins and four drawn games in their 13 meetings.

Ghana suffered a 1-0 defeat in their last match against Benin during the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in October 2009.
