The FIFA Football Tribunal's Dispute Resolution Chamber has ruled in favor of Ghanaian forward Augustine Okrah in his claim against Tanzanian club Young Africans SC (Yanga).
According to the decision, the club is required to pay Okrah USD 24,400 as outstanding remuneration.
This ruling partially upholds Okrah’s claim, while any additional claims made by the player were dismissed.
In addition to the ordered payment, FIFA has imposed a USD 3,000 fine on Yanga, which must be paid to FIFA within 30 days of the decision. The fine must be deposited in a specified account, with reference to the case number FPSD-15711.
The tribunal has also laid out strict consequences if Yanga fails to comply with the ruling. According to FIFA's regulations, if the full payment (including any applicable interest) is not made within 45 days, the following measures will be enforced:
Transfer Ban: Yanga will be banned from registering new players, both locally and internationally, for up to three consecutive transfer windows or until the full amount is settled.
FIFA Disciplinary Action: If payment is still not made after the transfer ban, the matter may be referred to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, which could impose further sanctions.
Augustine Okrah, formerly of Asante Kotoko currently plays for Ghana Premier League side, Bechem United after leaving Yanga.
