MATCH REPORT: Ghana hold Benin to qualify for 2019 U20 AFCON

Coach Jimmy Cobblah and his charges have booked themselves a ticket to the 2019 U20 Africa Cup of Nations following their away stalemate with Benin.
The Black Satellites of Ghana managed to hold the Benin U20 team to a 1-1 draw in the second league tie of the Africa Youth Championship qualifiers at the Stade de l'Amitié.
Ghana U20 have qualified to the next edition of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations which will be held in Niger on a 4-2 aggregate after sharing spoils with Benin in Cotonou.
Both sides squandered the chances and set-pieces awarded to them in the first department as it ended it a scoreless draw.
After lack of goals in the first half, Youngster Odo Chabi Bio snatched the opener for the homesters with a header on the 57th minute of the game.
The Benin U20 continued dominating the game after grabbing the lead as the were searching for the second goal but goalkeeper Manaf Nurudeen rescued the visitors.
WAFA young midfielder Prosper Ahiabu levelled the score for the Black Satellites with his cool finish on the 85th minute of the game.
The home side, Benin, tried their luck in the dying embers of the game through Sacca Mohammed, Koussi Rodriguez and Odo Chabi Bio.
The last time Ghana made appearance in the competition was in 2015 where they won a bronze medal.
