NC Special Cup Report: Asante Kotoko 1-0 Aduana Stars - Kotoko edge Aduana Stars in season opener

Asante Kotoko had their season opener against Aduana Stars in a not a too good performance through a hard fought victory by winning 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Abass Mohammed's early goal was enough to give the Porcupine Warriors all three points after all the works of Aduana Stars to get a point in this game.

From a slow start in the game, Asante Kotoko busted into attack on the left flanks on the 2nd minutes and found the opener and the only goal of the game through Abass Mohammed.

His thunderbolt inside the box from close range was difficult for Joseph Addo to stop from entering the net which gave Asante Kotoko the lead.

The game turned around to favour Aduana Stars as they possessed all the game but failed to make any positive incursions with their moves.

Injuries forced Asante Kotoko to make all their three  substitutions in the first half; Wahab Adams, Kwame Bonsu and Zabo Teguy Dany coming off for Stephen Nyarko, Prince Acquah and Wahab Adams.

In the second half, with a man down, Aduana Stars played all the good football but couldn't break through the Asante Kotoko defense.

Asante Kotoko walked away with all three points through Abass Mohammed's solitary strike on the second minutes.
