Ghana and Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Teye Partey won two awards at the 44th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards held in Accra on Saturday evening.

The 25-year-old beat off competition from former WBO Junior Featherweight title holder Issac Dogboe and ex-Ghana international Anthony Baffoe to clinch the ultimate award, Sports Personality of the Year.
He was also adjudged the Footballer of The Year in the male category following his sterling performance in the Spanish La Liga with Atletico Madrid and also playing an instrumental role in Ghana's qualification to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Black Maidens captain Mukarama Abdulai was also named the Female Footballer of the Year.
The event held at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) was graced bybtop dignitaries including Togbe Afedi, Hon. Isaac Asiamah, Samuel Adadevoh, Ibrahim Tanko, Yusif Chibsah and others.
