AFCON 2019: Kwadwo Asamoah set to start for Ghana against Cameroon

The deputy captain of the Black Stars is set to play his first game at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday, has learnt.

Inter Milan star Kwadwo Asamoah is reportedly to be handed a starting role by Coach Kwesi Appiah in Ghana's second Group F match against Cameroon.
The 30-year-old warmed the bench for the foir-time Africa Cup of Nations champions in their 2-2 stalemate with Benin last Tuesday.
He is expected to replace Andre Ayew who is currently racing against time for fitness ahead of the epic match tomorrow.
Captain Ayew has already missed two training sessions — Wednesday and Thursday — of the team ahead their clash with Group F leaders, Cameroon.
A statement on the FA website yesterday confirmed the unavailability of Manchester City winger Thomas Agyepong due to thigh injury as Ayew is undergoing medical tests.
Ghana are seeking for their first victory in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations as they take on Cameroon at the Ismailia Stadium on Saturday.
