BIG BLOW for Kotoko: Two Key Players ruled out of Kano Pillars clash

The Porcupine Warriors will battle out with Kano Pillars in their CAF Champions League clash next weekend without two of their key players.

Asante Kotoko duo Jordan Opoku and Augustine Okrah have been ruled out of their CAF Champions League second leg tie against Kano Pillars in Kumasi.

The Ghana Premier League giants will host the Yellow and Green lads at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on August 25th after losing 3-2 in the first leg encounter played in Nigeria.

Kickgh.com can report that both players will be out of action in their game with Kano Pillars in Kumasi due to a hitch in their registration.

The two players were left out of their 18-man squad that travelled for the first leg encounter after the club announced that their registration couldn't go through.

Kickgh.com understands that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has told Asante Kotoko that the Opoku and Okrah will be available for selection in the next round of the CAF Champions League.

Opoku is the most experienced player in the Coach Kjetil Zachariassen with the number of years spent at the club.

Okrah also joined the Kumasi-based club on a two-year deal last month on a free transfer after ending his stay with Indian club NorthEast United FC.

He won the Ghana Premier League top scorer award with sixteen goals before leaving to ply his trade in Sudan with Al Merrikh and Al Hilal.
