MATCH REPORT: Burundi 1-2 Ghana - Tahiru Awudu's brace hand Black Satellites win in African Games opener

A first half brace from Medeama SC young forward Tahiru Awudu propelled the male national U20 team to victory in their African Games opener against Burundi.

Ghana managed to record a 2-1 win over the Burundi U20 side in their Group B first match at the Stade Municipal El Manssouria.
 
Coach Yaw Preko's side looked fearsome upfront with Tahiru Awudu and Liberty Professionals top marksman Elvis Kyei Baffour.
 
19-year-old Awudu snatched the lead for the Black Satellites with a fine strike on the 16th minute of the game.
 
Five minutes later, he registered his second goal of the day before Burundi grabbed the consolation goal on the stroke of halftime.
 
The two teams failed to utilize the set-pieces awarded to them and the numerous chances created in the second department as the match ended in a 2-1 in favor of Ghana.
 
Ghana will battle out with Senegal on Wednesday before they square off with Mali in their final Group B game on August 24.
