MATCH REPORT: Ghana 0-1 Burkina Faso - Burkina Faso shock 'Wasteful' Black Stars again in CHAN Qualifier

The home based Black Stars suffered a painful loss to Burkina Faso in the first leg of their 2020 CHAN Qualifier on Sunday afternoon.

Burkina Faso inflicted a 1-0 home defeat on the Black Stars 'B' of Ghana at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Coach Maxwell Konadu and his charges could be found guilty for squandering the numerous chances and set pieces awarded to them in the first half.
Skipper Shafiu Mumuni nearly netted the opener for the team on the 20th minute but his strike was fisted out by goalkeeper BabaYaro.
Hearts of Oak attacker Joseph Esso, Augustine Okrah and Justice Blay tried their lucks but their efforts couldn't hand them the lead.
The first department of the match ended in a scoreless draw.
Back from the break, Ghana continued to dominate the match after the introduction of James Akaminko and Emmanuel Ocran.
New Ebubiase striker Prince Opoku Agyemang came on as replacement for Shafiu Mumuni.
Esso could have snatched the opener for Ghana but his shots went wide as others were cooled by the Burkina Faso goalkeeper.
A late goal scored by Stephane Yannick Pognongo handed the local Stallions of Burkina Faso an advantage to process to the next year's tournament.
The second leg tie will be played in Ouagadougou on October 20th.
Ghana have missed the last two editions of the CHAN competition.
