I Dedicate My Goal To Kim Grant- Manaf Umar

Virtually unknown until Kim Grant’s arrival at the club, Manaf Umar has instantly warmed himself into the hearts of the Hearts fans and neutral football lovers alike with his consistent spellbindingly performances.

The teenage sensation on Sunday showed why he’s been tipped to be the next big ‘thing’ to happen to Ghana football as he scored a spectacular goal in the Phobians’ triumph over West African Football Academy.
Umar was differentially elated to have scored his first competitive goal and was effusive in his praise of the Hearts gaffer; Kim Grant.
“He’s a very good coach and I am learning a lot from him,” he said. “I want to keep doing that all season. I learn a lot tactically from him: how to keep shape, how to help the team defensively when we don’t have the ball and how to be hard to beat.” He told kickgh.com
“He knew me from nowhere but took a very bold decision to promote from Auroras. My promotion to Hearts was by antipathy by some fans. It was a tough beginning” referring to anger from some fans questioning the decision of the manager.
“I am glad he (Kim Grant) never wavered in his conviction and still kept spurring me on. He is father and it is only right that I dedicate my first competitive goal to him.” He quipped
Considering Manaf Umar’s prowess with the ball and decision-making capabilities when assisting others, it is perhaps surprising that he doesn’t convert more of his own chances.
Just one goal for his club since his arrival is a poor return for someone of his ability. “It is an area I am working hard on.” “I need to start scoring goals but the interest of the team is what comes to mind anytime I go on the pitch.”
“I want to try and do what I can to help the team on and off the pitch.”
He is a player with a special gift and finesse, speed paired with technique and skills- at just 17.
With such a display, one can easily tell that the lad is destined for greatness. Such displays has always been the hallmark of the Bawku born and raised boy.
