NC Special Cup Report: Hearts of Oak 0-0 Liberty Professionals - 10-man Liberty hold Hearts at home

Hearts of Oak were held to a barren score line at the Accra Sports Stadium by Liberty Professionals in the Normalization Committe Special Competition.

Hearts of Oak played almost fifty minutes of the game with a man advantage after Michael Enu was sent off late in the first half for a late tackle on Joseph Esso.
Liberty Professionals had little of the game to enjoy in the first 45 minutes as they made little or no incursion throughout the first half as the home side put on a spirited performance to get a goal.
Hearts of Oak were rewarded a penalty kick on the 42nd minutes after captain Simon Zibo handled the ball in the air to prevent Hearts of Oak from scoring.
However, goalkeeper Shaibu Ganiwu had to parry away Joseph Esso's spot kick to keep the Dansoman-based alive in the game with a man short before the break.
Coach Kim Grant pushed men forward in the second to break the tight defense of Liberty Professionals by bringing on Malik Akowuah, Kofi Kordzi and Selassie Bakai Bless but failed to find way through Liberty's intrepid defense.
With a man down, Liberty Professionals held onto the game to grab a point in Accra after losing to Hearts of Oak in the first leg in Dansoman few weeks ago.
