We showed our inexperience against Etoile - Coach Zachariassen

The former Ashanti Gold SC trainer has attributed their Sunday's CAF Champions League loss to Etoile Sportive du Sahel to the inexperience of his team.

Asante Kotoko coach Kjetil Zachariassen thinks his side 'paid for their inexperience" as his young side missed the chance to secure a place in the 2019/20 CAF Champions League.
A draw or win would have been enough for the Porcupine Warriors to qualify for the CAF Champions League for the first time after thirteen years.
A half first strike from Mortadha Ben Ouanes and a double from Karim Aribi powered the Tunisian club to the CAF Champions League group stages after missing out last season.
“We didn’t stick to the plan” Coach Zachariassen said.
“We played a little strange football; sorry to say, we showed that, we don’t have too much experience at this level.
"They showed that, they have more experience and they used it. A long list of [things] were not good enough”
He continued “The boys are ready to learn and bring it to the Confederation Cup. The list is long of the things that we didn’t do well."
"We just have to learn from this. A lot of lessons. Most of it all, the mental side of it. We’ve got to be more prepared in another way."
"It got to be a mental thing, a lot of things we did that, we did it in a wrong way. We have to learn from it”
Kotoko will know their CAF Confederation Cup opponent in a draw which will be held in Egypt on 6th October, 2019.
