FINALLY: Kotoko sign Goalscoring Machine Kwame Opoku to replace Yacouba

The Ghana Premier League heavyweights have completed the signing of the talented forward for their 2019/20 season campaign.

Second-tier club Nkoranza Warriors have announced the sale of their talisman Kwame Opoku to Asante Kotoko for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old has officially inked a three-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors after undergoing a mandatory medical test at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital last week.

Kickgh.com understand that the budding talented goal poacher will be available for selection at Asante Kotoko during the second round of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.

The club's official statement reads "Nkoranza Warriors Sporting Club wish to announce the transfer of striker Kwame Opoku."

"The goal poacher has been transferred to Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club."

"We thank him for his service to the Club and we wish him best in all his endeavors."

Opoku is joining Asante Kotoko after failing to secure a deal with Serbian top-flight club FK Cukaricki months ago.

He once earned a call-up to the Ghana U20 team but failed to make the final squad for the 2019 Africa Youth Championship staged in Niger.

Asante Kotoko have signed the former Metro Stars FC attacker as replacement for Burkina Faso international Songne Yacouba who has refused to extend his contract with the club.

He scored ten (10) goals for Nkoranza Warriors in their GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition campaign.

Opoku was a member of the Ghana U23 team but he was left out for the 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations.

He has already started training with Asante Kotoko where he scored five goals in their big win over Jachie Youth in a club friendly.
