Hearts of Oak midfielder Benjamin Afutu loses mum

The mother of the Hearts of Oak defensive midfielder has passed on.
Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Benjamin Afutu Kotey has been hit by a family tragedy following the passing of his mother.
Madam Emelia Tetteh passed away yesterday (Tuesday) at the Royal Hospital, Akweteyman in Accra after battling an ailment for some time.
She died at age 72
Hearts of Oak delegation led by Managing Director Frederick Moore visited the family of the 24-year-old midfielder on Wednesday morning.
A statement from the club reads "A Hearts of Oak delegation led by club CEO Frederick Moore has visited our player, Benjamin Afutu on the passing of his mother."
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this, their grievous moment."
Afutu Kotey has been influential for the Rainbow club since his arrival in 2017.
He made 13 appearances with two goals in the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season which has been suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
