Former Ghana international, Godwin Attram has urged all stakeholders to protect the sanctity of the game by upholding fair play in the Ghana Premier League and all the other leagues.

Attram cautioned match officials to be conscious of the laws of the game and strictly apply them without fear or favour.

"We have to play football fairly in the country. That is all," Attram stated on CitiSports.

"Football has to be played fairly. You know, the referees, the managers, we the chairmen, we the presidents, we must support the FA.

"If things are going wrong, we must let them know that things are going wrong so that things will change and we will have sponsorship. But football must be played fairly.

He went further to urge match commissioners and the various clubs to desist from acts aimed at destroying the integrity of the game at this important stage of the game in the whole world.

"As a match commissioner or as somebody to go out there and watch. We want only yes or no. Is this a goal or is it not a goal? Just to prove our innocence, yes or no. That’s it.

"Because the game has become controversial and there's going to be a fight. So I think so. That’s a step to go to the camera.

"And the cameraman will show you if that is a goal or not, by then the referee has already pointed to the goal," he concluded."

Attram, a sharp forward during his heydays, has ventured into player management and talent nurturing after his retirement. He is the owner of Attram De Visser Soccer Academy, a grassroots team that prioritises developing and fostering young talent.
