Former Asante Kotoko Board Member and management member, Afrifa Yamoah Ponko has sadly passed away, as reported by Metro TV.

He was a prominent figure in Ghana's political landscape, affiliated with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). 

Yamoah Ponko, who was in his 60s, succumbed to a long illness on Sunday, October 6, 2024. While the exact cause of his death remains unclear, Metro News has learned that he had been unwell for several weeks prior to his passing.

In addition to his role with Asante Kotoko, Mr. Yamoah Ponko also served as the Chief Executive of the Ejisu/Juaben Municipal Assembly, contributing significantly to his community and the nation.

His death marks a significant loss for both the football community and the political arena in Ghana.

Ponkoh acted in the capacity as Operations Manager when the Porcupine Warriors won the Ghana Premier League title back in 2005.
