Hearts of Oak Communications Director, Kwame Opare Addo, has expressed the club's need to raise its standards and improve across all areas, following a series of underwhelming performances in recent times.
The Phobians narrowly escaped relegation last season, securing their place in the top flight on the final day of the campaign. Despite avoiding the drop, the team’s struggles on the pitch have been evident, and Addo believes it's time for the club to elevate its game.
“We must be much more competitive than we have been and get better in every aspect of our game,” Opare Addo stated in an interview with Asempa FM. “Everything we are doing on the pitch should improve from where we have been. That doesn’t mean we have not been competitive, but we must push for more.”
Hearts of Oak’s start to the current season has been rocky, suffering two consecutive defeats to Berekum Holy Stars and Heart of Lions before bouncing back with a 2-0 victory over Bechem United. However, their most recent match ended in a goalless draw against Nations FC.
Head coach Aboubakar Ouattara is now under growing pressure to deliver consistent results as the club looks to get back on track and compete at the highest level.
