The 35-year-old combative midfelder has revealed admiration for the Amakhosi as he eyes a PSL move as a free agent

Ghana international Sulley Muntari has said South Africa top-flight side Kaizer Chiefs have been his favourite and will fancy a move to their side in the Premier Soccer League.

The former lnter Milan midfeld enforcer is currently unattached having exhausted his one year deal with Spanish lower-tier side Albacete during the 2019/20 league campaign.

The no-nonsense combative midfielder was full of encomium for the FNB Stadium outfit in the PSL as he yearns for a career spell with them in the near future.

He added that Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are the other two clubs he would love to play for in the PSL but his heart is with the Johannesburg-based club.

The former Udinese man told Marawa Sports Worldwide on Metro FM:

“I would love to come and play in South Africa because they have great teams that I like. For instance, Sundowns are there, Pirates are there but my favourite one is Chiefs,"
“I don’t know why but I have been following Chiefs for a moment now, I love the way they are and everything.
“So, I said if I’m going to South Africa, there is only one team I want to play for, that is Chiefs,"
“And with all due respect to Pirates and Sundowns and the other teams that are in the South African league, of course, this is what I prefer, so that’s the only plan, that’s what I spoke [about] with the agent,"

“That’s it and I haven’t said anything more. But why not? It’s home, Ghana is home, South Africa can be home, any part of Africa can be home. It would be good to come [to South Africa] but I haven’t made my mind yet.”

Sulley Muntari has enjoyed a glittering trophy-laden career abroad having annexed so many titles including the Uefa Champions League and FA Cup with Inter Milan and Portsmouth respectively.

He has capped 84 times for Ghana with 20 goals to his credit.
