English Championship side Brentford have expressed interest in signing Asumah Abubakar-Ankra in the ongoing summer transfer window.
 
English Championship side Brentford have identified the 23-year-old attacker as a potential summer signing for their next season's campaign.
 
Kickgh.com understands that the Bees lads are currently holding talks with Swiss club SC Kriens for the possible acquisition of the Ghanaian international.
 
Brentford are aiming for a promotion to the English Premier League next season with three matches to end the 2019/20 Championship season.
 
Brentford occupy third position on the English Championship log with 78 points after match-week 43.
 
Abubakar-Ankra is currently one of the best attackers in Switzerland following his sterling performance for SC Kriens in his debut season.
 
Swiss club Grasshopper Club Zurich has also shown interest in landing the pacey winger.
 
He has netted fourteen goals with five assists in his 32 appearances for the Swiss side in the ongoing season.
 
The Kumasi-born joined SC Kriens on a free transfer after ending his stint with Dutch club MVV Maastricht.
 
Asumah is still eligible to represent Ghana despite playing for the Portugal U19 side in the 2016  UEFA U19 Championship.
 
He was withdrawn from the 2016 UEFA U19 Championship by Portugal after making two appearances over eligibility concerns.
 
The decision to withdraw the talented Ghanaian player is over concerns that he might not have satisfied the mandatory two-year continuous Portugal residency requirement that makes him eligible for their passport.
 
He was born in Kumasi to Ghanaian parents and played for youth side Corners Babies before leaving the shores of Ghana to Portugal to persue his football career.
