The ex-Real Madrid youth man suffered a knock in their opening game against Genk and the Belgian manager was left disappointed as he is set to miss their next league fixture on Sunday

Zulte waregem manager Francky Dury has said that the absence of Ghana international Daniel Opare for their upcoming league fixture against Beerschot is a shame.

The 29-year-old was stupendous in his debut league match following their 1-2 defeat at home to Genk last Sunday. However, his remarkble outing on the day was mired by a knock and had to be substituted on the 70th minute of the clash.

Having failed to recover in time for their upcoming must-win fixture against the Antwerp-based club, the former FC Porto fullback absence has left his Belgian gaffer brooding over his loss for the encounter on Sunday.

Francky Dury told a press conference via Het Nieuwsblad  ; ''That's a shame, because he played very well against Genk. But it is well... as we have to move on.''

He added: " l only wanted to win against Genk and I'm going to repeat that now. If you don't get points in the first match, you must win the second. You have to grab points as quickly as possible. ”

Opare joined Zulte Waregem on a two-year deal this summer having exhausted his contract with fellow Belgian Pro League side Royal Antwerp.

The 2009 U-20 Fifa World Cup winner has capped 20 times for the senior national team of Ghana.
