EXCLUSIVE: Ghanaian sensation Cody Gakpo extends contract with Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven

The budding talented Ghanaian forward has signed a new deal with the Dutch Eredivisie club.

Dutch-born of Ghanaian descent Cody Mathès Gakpo has extended his contract with Dutch top-flight giants PSV Eindhoven.
The 20-year-old penned a new three-year deal which will keep him at the Philips Stadion outfit until summer 2023.
“This new contract gives me the feeling that the club appreciates me. Those are things that you as a footballer must cherish," Gakpo told the club's official website.
"It was not such a difficult choice for me to renew again,"
“I am very happy that I have again been able to put my signature under a PSV contract. As a boy from Eindhoven it is of course a dream to reach the first team."
He rose from the club's youth side Jong PSV two years ago after scoring 17 times in 26 matches.
He has now established himself as a starter in PSV Eindhoven first time since his promotion from the youth side at age 18.
"In recent years I have been able to play football step by step. Via Jong PSV, training at the first, a permanent place in the selection and occasionally minutes to the situation as it is now. I feel great here in my own city."
He is currently nursing an injury he picked up earlier last week.
The four million euros rated attacker has scored two goals with two assists in his 10 appearances for PSV Eindhoven this season so far.
Gakpo has featured for the Netherlands U18, U19, U20 and U21 but still eligible to play for with Ghana or Togo in future.
He was born to a Ghanaian father and Togolese mother in Eindhoven.
