"l'll do everything possible to keep Doku," - RSC Anderlecht CEO

The teenager continues to attract so many admiring glances from top division sides across Europe, but his club's chief has vowed to shoot down any offer from suitors for their prized asset

RSC Anderlecht CEO Karel Van Eetvelt has said he would put his life to the sword to keep hold of their Belgium-born Ghanaian youngster Jeremy Doku.

The enterprising winger impressive performances last term with the Purple and White have triggered a bidding war amongst his admirers in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Anderlecht are believed to be sweating over the numerous enquries being made about the availability of the 18-year-old  as they look forward to keeping him for the upcoming Belgian top-flight campaign following his superb start last season with the senior ranks set-up.

The Lotto Park outfit are currently facing financial challenges and as a result are unable to flex muscles with their nemesis for their targets in the ongoing transfer window.  

However, this financial constraint has necessitated for the keeping of top performing rising stars like Doku as Anderlecht want to build a long-term project with their youth prospects.

The 34-League title winners chief told Newspaper Het Nieuwsblad: "Doku is being pulled over. I will do everything I can to say no for [offers] as long as possible. We want to launch our own youth. Only then will we look at reinforcements."

The Brussels-based club have also penciled down Ghanaian international left-back Gideon Mensah for a loan deal from RB Salzburg with the intention of making the deal permanent should he impress.

Doku market value is currently €9m, according to transfermarket.
