"Thomas Partey will fit in perfectly in the EPL" - Atletico Madrid team-mate Trippier avows

The former Tottenham defender believes the Ghanaian midfelder will flourish in the Premiership having attracted a keen interest from Arsenal

Thomas Partey will fit in perfectly in the English Premier League, according to Atletico Madrid team-mate Kieran Trippier.

The 27-year-old midfeld enforcer has been linked with a move away to the EPL with Arsenal in pole position to land his signature in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Atletico Madrid have resigned to losing their prized asset to the Premiership campaigners following their persistent poach towards the talented midfelder.

Trippier believes Thomas Partey will live up to his billings when he finally swap the Spanish LaLiga for the Premier League with the Emirates Stadium outfit being his likely destination.

The England international told The Beautiful Game Podcast when asked about his fellow Atletico Madrid team-mate link to the EPL:  "Obviously I want him to stay here because he’s a valuable member to our team.

‘But I feel like he speaks perfect English.

‘I don’t think he’d have a problem with the Premier League.’

He added : "Obviously everybody watches the Premier League, even out here you watch games. It gives me a good opportunity to watch nearly all the games out here now.

‘But no, they just ask me what it’s like, the style of play, a few players have. It doesn’t mean that they’re leaving by the way!

‘They ask about certain players who play in the league, what it’s like and I just say… the Premier League is the Premier League. It is one of the best leagues in the world.

‘But Thomas… he’ll fit in perfectly in the Premier League.’

The former UD Almeria loanee has a running contract with the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium outfit until 2023.

Partey's buy-out clause is €50m.
