2020 Olympic Games Qualifier: Ghana beat Gabon to progress

The Black Queens of Ghana have progressed to the next round of the 2020 Olympic Games qualifiers following their victory over Gabon on Tuesday afternoon.

Ghana have booked themselves to the next qualification round of the 2020 Olympic Games qualifier after whipping Gabon 2-0 in the reverse leg encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.
 
Coach Mercy Tagoe's side progressed to the next phase of the qualifiers on a 5-0 aggregate after the Gabonese suffered a 3-0 loss in the first leg tie in Libreville.
 
Skipper Portia Boakye got the lead for the Black Queens on the quarters of the game before Juliet Acheampong sealed their victory with a fine strike on the 70th minute.
 
The Black Queens of Ghana are yet to make an appearance at the Olympic Games since its introduction.
 
Ghana will now face the female senior national team of Kenya in the next round of the 2020 Olympic Games qualifier.
