Coach Jimmy Cobblah has admitted that he was elated with his side 2-0 victory over Burkina Faso in their Group B opener.
A brace from Daniel Lomotey recorded on the 41st and 77th minute handed the Ghana U20 team a winning start in the 22nd edition of the tournament.
“We had problems at home due the off the field issues and our pre-tournament matches where not the best but we kept on working and did well today against a good team.” Coach Cobblah told reporters
“I’m so happy for the win and to be at the top of the group alongside Senegal. Football is played on the pitch and we concentrated on that.”
“Now we will continue to prepare for the next game match, which will be another test for us but we will be ready.”
Ghana will face Senegal in their second group B fixture at the Stade de Maradi on Thursday afternoon.
