The Black Satellites of Ghana failed to qualify to the semis of the 2019 African Games following a loss to Mali in their final Group B match.

Mali progressed to the semi-final of the tournament after whipping the Ghana U20 team 4-2 in their last group fixture at Stade Municipal El Manssouria.

The Malians started the match on a good note as they got the opener through Souleymane Drame on the 11th minute of the game.

Goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad denied Abdoulaye Kanou from doubling the score on the 24th minute after fisting out his spot-kick.

On the 41st minute, Adoulaye Kanou doubled the lead for the Mali U20 team to end the first half in a 2-0 win in favor of them.

Coach Yaw Preko's side could be found guilty for squandering the numerous chances and set-pieces awarded to them in the first department.

Two minutes after the break, Medeama SC young forward Tahiru Awudu pulled one back for the Black Satellites with a stupendous strike.

Two-quick brace from Ibrahim Sangare on the 61st and 65th minute extended the score to 4-1 for the Malians.

A late goal scored by Tahiru Awudu was not enough for the Black Satellites as the match ended in a 4-2 victory for Mali.
