CK Akonnor explains why Justice Blay was left out of Black Stars squad

The Black Stars head coach has opened up on his decision to overlook the midfield dynamo for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers this month.

Ghana coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor has explained why Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay couldn't make his 23-man squad for Sudan double-header.

Coach Akonnor announced his squad list for the crunchy encounter with the senior national team of Sudan.

Blay has established himself as one of the highy-rated midfielders in the Ghana Premier League for the past seasons.

''For (Justice) Blay he was sick. He just came back in the last match, I saw him and he was fantastic, he was good, but his time will come,'' Akonnor said at Tuesday's press conference.

He joined Asante Kotoko on a season-long loan deal from Medeama SC.

Ghana will battle out with Sudan in the first leg tie at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on 27th March before a trip to Khartoum on 30th March for the reverse fixture
