Three Famous Ghanaian footballers in Europe

Today, we will be looking at Ghanaian footballers, who are taking part in the large growth of football in Europe. For this special we teamed up with Joe Ferdinand, journalist and writer for FootballPredictions.com. Find more of his work by clicking here.

Daniel Amartey
A 24-year-old professional football player, who can be deployed as a right-back, centre-back and also as a defensive midfielder, is the first on the list.
Born in Accra, Ghana, the 24-year-old defender started his professional career with second tier club, International Allies in his hometown before joining up Swedish team Djurgårdens IF later that year. In the summer of 2014, Amartey was then reported to have completed a move to Danish club F.C. Copenhagen for a fee worth €2.5 million.
In his first campaign with the Danish club, the 24-year-old defender was able to help the club lift the Danish Cup. They achieved the same feat the following season with the lifting of the Danish Superliga completing a domestic double.
During the winter transfer window back in 2016, Amartey completed a move reportedly worth £6 million to Leicester City. In his first season with the club, the player was able to help the Foxes win the English Premier League title at the end of the season, which was no easy feat back then. Following the sale of N'Golo Kante that summer, Amartey was became a first team regular for Leicester City the following season.
While playing for the Foxes, last year in October, the Ghana international succumbed to an injury that ruled him out of the 2018/19 campaign and ever since has been yet to feature in a game for the English club. We wish him quick recovery and fitness.
Kwadwo Asamoah
The second on the list and also the oldest in the list is Inter Milan midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah. He began his professional football career with Italian side Torino, when he joined the club during the winter of 2008.
In the summer of the same year, he was confirmed to have joined up Udinese, where he played outstandingly for four seasons before joining up giants Juventus in the summer of 2012.
Asamoah had no troubles adapting to the way Juventus played under manager Antonio Conte at the time. The 30-year-old Ghanaian, who could be deployed as either a midfielder or a left back, was instrumental for the Italian giants they lifted the Serie A and Supercoppa Italiana. The final that was chosen as bet of the day in his first season
The Ghana international went on to help the club win the League title for seven consecutive seasons, winning the Copa Italia four times and the Italian Super Cup three times.
During the summer of 2018, the 30-year-old joined up rivals Inter Milan, who he helped achieved a Champions League qualification. He is yet to feature for the club this season due to an injury.
Thomas Partey
If you've been watching La Liga games for now, you should with no doubt know the name Thomas Partey. He currently plies his trade with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
He joined the giants back in 2013, he enjoyed loan spells to RCD Mallorca and UD Almeria before returning to Atletico for his first team debut in 2015. And ever since he has helped the club UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup.
