The 2022 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship draw has been held at the Opera House, the beautiful architectural building in Algeria with some interesting pairings. 

The event was graced by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, Algerian Football Federation President, Djahid Zefizaf, Raber Majer, Robert Kidiaba and more.

The draw was conducted by three former footballers Abdelmoumene Djabou, Sudan's Mostafa Ahmed Karar and our own Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, with help of Director of CAF competitions Sampson Adamu.
 
The qualified teams for the competition which is scheduled for next year are 18 and have been put into five groups, with the first three comprising of four teams, and the last two having only three.
 
Ghana has been housed in Group C alongside two time champions Morocco, Sudan and Madagascar.
 
The Black Galaxies edged out neighbours Nigeria and Benin to cruise into the CHAN finals after missing out in the last three editions.
 
Coach Annor Walker and his charges will look to win the competition for the first time in their history, having finished as runners up on two occasions in the maiden edition in 2009 and 2014.
 
The competition is expected to commence on January 13, to  February 4, 2023.
