Ghana midfielder Grace Asantewaa has officially joined Mexican giants Tigres UANL Femenil on a free transfer, signing a contract with the Liga MX Femenil side ahead of the Apertura 2026 tournament.
Asantewaa, 25, arrives as a free agent following the end of her contract with FC Juárez. She completed her medical examinations on Monday and signed her contract with the Amazonas on Tuesday.
The move comes after the departure of Spanish forward Jenni Hermoso, opening up a foreign player spot.
During her three-year spell with Juarez, Asantewaa made 90 appearances, scoring 18 goals and becoming the club's all-time top goalscorer. She was a regular starter in 69 of those games and played a key role for the Bravas.
Asantewaa has represented the Black Queens at the senior level and featured at the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Before her move to Mexico in 2023, Asantewaa played in Spain for EDF Logroño and Real Betis.
Tigres are adding a midfielder known for her energy, work rate, and offensive contribution. Asantewaa is praised for her intensity, ability to recover the ball, drive forward, and arrive in the box from deep positions.
With 18 goals in 90 games for Juárez, she brings proven end product. As the reigning champions, Tigres are strengthening their squad to defend their title.
