Ghana international Mohammed Kudus was voted the best player in the Black Stars draw with Egypt in the match-day two of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Thursday evening.
The West Ham United attacking midfielder registered two goals to ensure Ghana secured an important draw with the record-title holders of the competition in their Group B fixture.
The 23-year-old opened the scoring for the Black Stars on the stroke of half-time to end it in a 1-0 before Omar Marmoush capitalized on a Inaki Williams' disappointing back pass to level the score for the Egyptians in the 69th minute.
Two minutes later, Kudus registered his name once again on the score sheet by restoring their lead with a fine strike before Osman Bukari gifted the North Africans the equalizer in the 74th minute through Mostafa Mohamed.
Kudus missed the Group B opening game against Cape Verde following a hamstring injury.
He has scored two goals in his first-ever Africa Cup of Nations appearance for the Black Stars of Ghana.
