Ghana’s Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has raised concerns over the availability of AJ Auxerre midfielder Elisha Owusu for the upcoming 2025 AFCON qualifier against Angola.
The match is set to take place on Thursday, September 14, at the Baba Yara Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 16:00 GMT.
In a pre-match press conference, Addo provided updates on the team, highlighting late arrivals to the Black Stars camp, including Owusu and Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew.
Regarding Owusu, Addo expressed uncertainty about his participation due to a muscular issue, stating, “I hope they will be okay, especially with Elisha, who has some muscle problems. After training, the doctor will talk to them and see how they are feeling. So there is a little bit of a question mark, to be honest, but I hope it will be okay, especially for Elisha.”
Ghana is determined to secure one of the top two spots in Group F, which would guarantee their place in the 2025 AFCON, set to be held in Morocco.
The Black Stars face competition from Angola, Sudan, and Niger as they vie for qualification.
