Premier League-bound Ipswich Town have confirmed the permanent signings of Ivory Coast defender Cedric Kipre and Nigeria-eligible forward Chuba Akpom following their successful loan spells at the club.

Kipre joined Ipswich on a season-long loan from French side Stade de Reims and made 32 Championship appearances during the campaign, triggering a clause that converted the

deal into a permanent transfer.

Meanwhile, Akpom featured 29 times in the league and scored twice before completing his permanent switch from Dutch giants Ajax.

Both transfers will officially be completed on July 1, with Akpom signing a three-year contract. The duration of Kipre’s agreement has not yet been disclosed.

“It feels brilliant to be officially part of this massive club after everything we have achieved together,” Kipre said.

“I have loved being here since the first day I arrived. Everyone welcomed me so well and it didn’t feel like I was on loan, so I’m delighted to become a permanent player.

“I can’t wait for next season and it will mean a lot to represent this club in the Premier League. It’s been my dream and I’m very, very happy.”

Ipswich sealed promotion back to the Premier League over the weekend after securing victory against Queens Park Rangers, joining Championship winners Coventry City in earning automatic promotion to the English top flight.
