Former Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Herbert Mensah, has advised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to start building the Black Stars from the back as most of the defenders lack the defensive capacity to don the national jersey.
The Black Stars was eliminated from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast after securing an appaling two points out of a possible 9 points in the competition's group stage.
However, Herbert Mensah believes that Ghana's defense is probably the team's worst problem as it was so evident during the matches they played in the tournament.
"You have to build from the back and you got to have people with those engines that can do what it is that we see in modern football today," he said in an interview with Happy FM.
The Black Stars conceded six goals after three matches in Ivory Coast, crashing out from Group B with two points as they lurked on the third position.
