Isaac Afful's beauty was enough to hand FC Samartex another precious 1-0 win at the Ohene Gyan Stadium to complete back to back over Cameroonian champions Victoria United to advance to the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The Timber Giants cruised with a 2-0 on aggregate victory having already won the first 1-0 last week in Douala, thanks to Emmanuel Mamah's towering header.
The Cameroonians started the game on a blistering note and nearly scored in just two minutes from kickoff but their free kick was checked by goalkeeper Kofi Baah.
Just six minutes later, left-back Isaac Afful made a blistering run from the flanks into the box and blasted into the roof of the net to put Samartex ahead. That was a good goal.
Both teams subsequently settled down and exhibited a balance battle with end to end stuff but there was no goal produced as the first half finished with a only a goal produced.
Back from recess, the homesters in as much as they maintained their dominance on the game in terms of possession and others, also ensured their backline was intact and resolute to preserve their lead.
On the 69th minute, there was a big appeal for penalty after Isaac Afful rounded his way through the penalty box and got fouled by an opposing player but the referee waved play on.
Emmanuel Mamah was spotted with a great mirror pass in the dying embers of the game but couldn't make it count after a great tackle from the opposition defense.
It finished 1-0 (2-0 on aggregate) for FC Samartex after full time and will face Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in the next round of qualifiers.
